This Men’s Health Week, which will you try?
#1 Pick a night each week and take a few minutes to plan your meals for the week ahead.
“With this method, you won’t have to stress over last-minute meal planning,” Alex says.
#2 Stock up on healthy snacks that don’t require much prep.
“You’ll avoid turning to sugar and processed foods when hunger strikes.”
#3 Set an hourly posture reminder on your device.
“When it goes off, slowly straighten your spine. Good posture improves concentration and memory.”
#4 Find one moment to sneak some extra steps into your daily routine.
“Even on a packed day you can find creative ways to move. Try taking the stairs instead of the lift, or park at the outer edge of the car park and walk to your destination.”
#5 Skip the nightcap.
“Alcohol initially acts as a sedative, but later in the night it acts as a sleep disruptor.”
#6 Choose a time each night to put your phone in Do Not Disturb mode.
“Intentionally blocking notifications and calls will help put the day’s demands behind you and set you up for uninterrupted sleep.”
#7 If something takes less than two minutes, do it immediately.
“Finishing a quick task is often simpler than reviewing it, putting it in your calendar and returning to it later.”
#8 In the morning, write down your priorities for the day.
“Deciding what’s important and what’s not is key to reducing stress and improving productivity.”
#9 When someone shares their feelings with you, respond by rephrasing what you heard.
“This active listening technique not only confirms your understanding but also acknowledges their experience.”
#10 Swap a suggestion for a question.
“Sometimes we feel like we have to have all the answers – asking a question is a simple, powerful way to help others share their experiences and stories.”
