Q: I’ve been reflecting on this challenging time and one of the opportunities I see for myself is to work on my negative mindset. I’ve noticed that other people in similar circumstances seem to manage better than I do. How can I start to reframe how I see things going forward so I can be happier and less stressed?
Firstly, it’s important to acknowledge that the challenging circumstances of the past year have put even the most positive-minded person to the test. Try and avoid judging yourself against friends who seem to “manage better” – everyone has their own unique burdens to bear.
Shifting to a more positive way of thinking is a journey. It starts with setting an intention to accept and embrace positive thoughts and then involves practising doing this each and every day.
Congratulations on identifying the opportunity to reframe your mindset going forward; committing to working at this is a great first step.
